Matt J Maran
Founder & Senior practitioner
Twenty years ago, I ruptured my acruciate ligament (ACL) in my knee.
At the time, I was working as an assistant physiotherapist, with access to every conventional treatment available. Although I recovered well, the experience left me with a question that would shape the next two decades of my career:
Why do some interventions create lasting change, while others simply relieve symptoms?
Over the next twenty years, I immersed myself in biomechanics, fascial science and structural integration. More recently, I added formal study in cognitive neuroscience and advanced clinical hypnotherapy, bringing these disciplines together into a single, integrated understanding of human function.
Along the way I trained with internationally recognised pioneers including Dr Robert Schleip, Tom Myers, Sharon Wheeler, Til Luchau, Divo Müller, Daniela Meinl and Dr Marc Johnson. More importantly, I spent thousands of hours working with people—helping them overcome pain, improve movement and return to doing the things that matter to them.
One principle became increasingly clear:
The body and mind are not separate systems but one that is interconnected.
Movement influences emotion. Emotion influences movement. Persistent pain changes the way we think, just as our thoughts and expectations shape the way we move. Lasting change rarely comes from treating one in isolation from the other.
That understanding became the foundation of SomaSi.
Every person who walks through the door brings a unique history, lifestyle and set of goals. My role is not simply to treat symptoms, but to understand how the different parts of the system interact and to help restore the conditions for better movement, greater resilience and lasting performance.
Whether your goal is to move without pain, recover from injury, perform at a higher level or simply continue enjoying an active life, the objective remains the same:
To help you move, perform and live with greater freedom.
Our mission: to lead your finances into a future full of opportunities.
